The Effect of Millitary Rule on Nigeria and it Government

The Tragedy faced by Nigeria as a nation is being unable to separate itself from military tenets after it long period of military dictatorship.

Since it transition to democratic governance from Military rule on the 29th of May 1999, Nigeria has failed to forgo the culture programmed to it by the dictatorial regime in that every national events must be backed by parades, match past and all form of cultural events which was employed by the dictatorial administration of the Nigeria Military dictators during their regime as head of governments to entertain and amuse themselves and while away time for lack of creative ideas toward development.
The Nigerian constitution and all it amendments over the years of it democratic rule has failed to solve this problem of Military styled governance because the menace has become endemic to the extent that it has become part of Nigeria culture and is employed in social events an entertainments.

The Culture of Nigerian states as seen today were not inherent to them as they try to portray in their art and culture. They were imposed on the people who have gone through one military like operations before and after independence in 1st October 1960.

Every Culture in Nigeria has embraced war dance as it tradition but it was all as a result of military invasions and takeovers which predates Nigerias independence.

How do we solve this problem?

It is inherent and has no physical immediate solution.

The Nigerian Nation can only achieve a deviation from military tenets by creating a national dream which can be passed to the offspring that the nation has produced and creating an atmosphere of peace, unity and freedom.

This could be impossible to achieve in a nation with indigent divergent ethnic groups who are competing for survival and relevance in the midst of marginalization and deprivation.

The Nigerian dream can only be born on collective victory and not on political exuberance.
